Police identified Paul Smith, 47, as the person killed in West Palm Beach in a fatal accident involving a Virgin train traveling north.

Friday night, September 6, crossings in the area from Avon Road all the way to the Bightline Downtown WPB station were closed as police investigated a fatal accident involving a northbound Virgin train.

According to police, Paul Smith, 47, was killed after his Corvette collided at train crossing with a Virgin Train (formerly Brightline) traveling North along West Palm Beach Florida East Coast Railway tracks. Gate arms were down and Smith attempted to go around them, police said.
