The diehard President Trump supporter, whose image has been turned into a variety of memes about the attempted insurrection, has been identified.
The blond man depicted in a viral photo carrying House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s lectern during the storming of the US Capitol has been identified as Adam Johnson, 36, of Parrish — a small unincorporated area about 40 miles south of Tampa. According to records and reports, Johnson is a dad of five from Florida with a history of cocaine and marijuana arrests.
Johnson is allegedly the man in the photo taken during Wednesday’s raid of the U.S. Capitol by Donald Trump’s supporters where he is waving to the camera while holding the lectern in his right arm, according to investigators. Johnson, who was clean-shaven in his mugshot, appeared in the photo with a beard and a wool hat with “Trump” written on the top.
Photos from his now-deleted social media page showed him inside the Capitol.
The FBI announced on Thursday that it was searching for Johnson and others who participated in Wednesday’s violence. Five people died in the riot on Wednesday, including a Capitol Hill police officer.
At least two men from Florida have been charged with unlawful entry in the chaotic breach of the U.S. Capitol by a mob supporting President Donald Trump.
In addition, officials say a Florida firefighter has been placed on leave after photos surfaced of him participating in Wednesday’s violent event.
